About the Founder
My name is Arun, and my journey with Woodlands began right here, in this very Tsim Sha Tsui restaurant. Before I was the owner, I was a loyal guest. My career was in engineering, but my heart was always here. As a lifelong vegetarian new to Hong Kong, this cozy spot in Wing On Plaza became my second home—the place I ate almost every single day.
So, when I saw the place I cherished face the risk of closure in 2018, it was personal. In a decision I made overnight, I knew I had to step in. This wasn't a business move; it was a mission to protect the soul of this restaurant. My first act was to bring back the original master chefs to revive the authentic, timeless flavours that I had fallen in love with all those years ago.
That hands-on passion is my promise to you today. I still visit this restaurant constantly, tasting the food to ensure the quality. My commitment is simple: to be a guardian of this legacy and to ensure that this original TST branch will always remain the true, authentic, best Indian vegetarian restaurant of Hong Kong.
